By accessing or using Protocol ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Protocol is an online marketplace for buying and selling knitting and crochet patterns. We provide a platform connecting pattern designers with crafters looking to purchase patterns.

3. User Accounts

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to use this Service

4. Purchases and Payments

• All prices are displayed in USD unless otherwise indicated
• Payment is required at the time of purchase
• Digital patterns are delivered immediately upon successful payment
• We use third-party payment processors; their terms also apply

5. Refund Policy

Due to the digital nature of our products, all sales are final. Refunds may be issued at our discretion in cases of duplicate purchases or technical issues preventing access to purchased content. Please contact info@knittingprotocol.com for assistance.

6. Intellectual Property

For Buyers:

• Purchased patterns are for personal use only unless otherwise stated
• You may not redistribute, resell, or share purchased patterns
• Items made from patterns may generally be sold unless the pattern states otherwise

For Designers:

• You retain ownership of patterns you upload
• You grant us a license to display and distribute your patterns through our platform
• You represent that you have the right to sell the patterns you upload
• You are responsible for ensuring your patterns do not infringe others' intellectual property

7. Designer Terms

If you sell patterns on our platform:

• You agree to provide accurate pattern descriptions and difficulty ratings
• You are responsible for customer support related to your patterns
• We retain a commission on each sale (see Designer Agreement for current rates)
• Payouts are processed according to our standard payment schedule

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Violate any applicable laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
• Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise our systems
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Use automated systems to access the Service without permission

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Protocol shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that patterns will be error-free or that the Service will be uninterrupted.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, you retain access to previously purchased and/or designed patterns.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes via email or prominent notice on our website. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by the laws of Washington/United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
